Astari Nite shares video for “Lovesick”

Premiered on Post Punk
First single off upcoming EP Dreams of Majesty

Astari Nite released the video for “Lovesick,” the first single off their upcoming EP Dreams of Majesty. The release is due this summer on Cleopatra Records (U.S.) and Danse Macabre Records (Europe), with support of Raygun Agency.

The single is an intense flashback to the golden era of new wave and post punk. The lyrics remind one of The Cure and New Order, while the music is more energetic, with old school guitars, fast drums, and modern synths.

Lovesick” was produced by Rees Bridges, (Dirty Vegas, Pete Doherty and Tears for Fears) and the mastering was done by Emily Lazar whose stellar work trajectory includes David Bowie, Depeche Mode, Foo Fighters and Sonic Youth to name a few.

The video, directed by Charlie Tonelli, features the band performing  in an obscure and melancholic room while flashes of a beautiful girl bring the lyrics to life.

Lovesick is about rejoicing in the memory of those who have passed on in our lives, whether it is someone we know and or admire. I’d like to think of it as a eulogy or an anthem for saying goodbye.”

– Mychael Ghost

IIOIOIOII Remixes “Time Hangs On Your Finger Tips” By Astari Nite

IIOIOIOII shares their remix of Astari Nite’s song “Time Hangs on Your Finger Tips”. The remix transforms the energetic new wave original into a dreamy, industrial, electronic trip that will make you want to dance.

IIOIOIOII’s mix maintains vocalist Mychael Ghosts words almost unchanged, but transforms the music into a dark ambient electronic track.

Ambient Synthpop act IIOIOIOII (Pronounced I.O.) formed in 2012. I.O. is the project of Christopher Gurney from North Carolina. Straying from conventional soundscapes I.O. delves into more atmospheric and emotional scoring.  IIOIOIOII is on the roster of the experimental electronic music UK label AnalogueTrash with their new EP Post Brimstone released on cassette and digital format on August of 2016.

“Time Hangs on Your Finger Tips” was originally released on the LP Until The End Of The Moon, Astari Nite’s sophomore album.

Astari Nite to release video for “Until the End of the Moon” on October 17th

Astari Nite is proud to bring to the world the music video to the title track of their second, and latest album, Until the End of the Moon. This is the 3rd music video for the album, following the music video for “Always Like Yesterday” and the live shot production for “Joyful Wish” which was shot at Revolution Live in Ft. Lauderdale while the band opened for She Wants Revenge.

The video, directed by Charlie Tonelli for Beach House Productions, is a conceptual video, combining footage of the band setting up and playing live at th Fetish Factory’s Bloodlust party, as well as the adventure of the main character of the short film (performed by journalist Flor Frances), that’s making an effort to witness the band. Charlie  wanted to explore with bursts of saturated color, and make the production reminiscent of Peter Greenaway or JF Julian’s styles.

The overall result is a video of post punk melodies with psychedelic colors and bloodstained musicians.

The video for “Until the End of the Moon” will be premiered on October 17th on Sonic Seducer Magazine.
